OUTREACH Programmes



Introduction

The OUTREACH Programmes together with concerts, seminars and exhibition make up the 12th WASBE International Conference. Bands from around the world will be invited to participate in the Conference via the OUTREACH Programmes.

As a pre-cursor to the Conference, the OUTREACH Programme promises a myriad of events and activities, ranging from performances at various places in and around the city to venues in the heartlands, schools and community visits as well as exchanges with the local wind bands. On and above the OUTREACH activities, participants of the OUTREACH Programmes can concurrently participate in the events of the 12th WASBE International Conference.

Aligned with the main conference's vision, the OUTREACH Programmes serves to bring the joy of wind music from the many international groups to various parts of Singapore. While enhancing the quality of life, the programmes also aim to rouse the interest and appreciation of all audiences for music from different cultures and backgrounds.

We perceive the forthcoming 12th WASBE International Conference as an opportunity to begin an annual or biennial international music festival in Singapore. Using these international festivals, we can subsequently look forward to generate greater audience cultivation and to raise the level of music appreciation amongst our citizens.
