Memories of Killarney — The Conference Archive
Our Irish hosts greeted us with Céad Míle Fáilte (a hundred thousand welcomes) and they delivered excellent hospitality and artistic content, creating an unforgettable experience for all who attended the 2007 Conference in Killarney. A hundred thousand thanks to Fergus O'Carroll and the volunteer committee for their years of dedication in producing such a top drawer international event. This archive is dedicated to them.
Organisation of the Archive
At the time of the Conference (and for many months thereafter), the content for the Conference was arranged by day: either the day the concert or session was held or the day the review or news was posted. While very useful at the time, it is a little hard to extract information you might want when looking back. Thus, we have reorganised the content by type:
We also have two other categories that weaved their way though the Conference content:
- Strands (a.k.a. Threads): Percussion, Choral/Vocal and Chamber
- Conference Podcast
We also had content in German (from Peter Bucher) and Spanish (from Miguel Etchegoncelay), which we have put in their own category for easy access. In all cases, relevant content is replicated when it applies to more than one area. For example, the review of the Cincinnati concert on Sunday appears in the Concerts area and in the Strands (Chamber Music) area; both the English and Spanish reviews of the IYWO concert appear when you click on IYWO under Concerts.
