The 3rd Annual Congress of Bands, Villa de Ortigueira will be held at the el Teatro de la Beneficencia de Ortigueira in Ortigueira, Galicia, Spain from the 19th to the 21st of March, 2010. The Band Congress will coincide with the Holy year Xacobeo as well as the music and the cultural management of the Bands in Slovenia. The time frame of the Congress splits between meetings of work of different Federations of Bands, conferences, Latin-American Composition Contest as well as a Conducting Course with Daniel Leskovich (Slovenia). The 8th Annual International Youth Wind Band Festival - Bund Deutscher Blasmusikverbände will be held in Wehr, Germany from the 8th to the 11th of April, 2010. Besides concerts and workshops , youth bands can participate at the international contest. All young bands and ensembles of chamber music with musicians up to 27 years can participate. The Annual International Wind Orchestra Festival Berlin will be held at the Admiralspalast in Berlin, Germany from the 12th to the 16th of May, 2010. The competition is exclusively for wind orchestra and harmonie orchestra. All musicians must be active members of the orchestra. Orchestras can apply to compete in three categories. The 9th Annual International wind band contest of Friuli Venezia Giulia will be held in Bertiolo, Italy from the 28th to the 30th of May, 2010. The contest is open to all the wind bands and is organised in three categories: first (grade 4), second (grade 3,5), third (grade 3). The 2nd Annual Wind Orchestra of Latin America (Orquesta Latinamericano de Vientos) - OLV will be held in Manizales, Colombia from the 29th of May to the 5th of June, 2010. The OLV is a prestigious symphonic band of 60 instrumentalists of the highest musical level along with two young directors selected from all Latin American countries. The 8th Annual Jungfrau Music Festival will be held in Interlaken, Switzerland from the 4th to the 10th of July, 2010. The 1st Annual Wind Music Grand Prix of Hungary will be held in Pécs, Hungary from the 4th to the 10th of July, 2010. Competition in majorettes with wind orchestra, entertainment wind music, concert march music, and original concert wind music will be held during the week. Wind Orchestra of the European Capital of Culture will be held in Pécs, Hungary from the 4th to the 10th of July, 2010. The Wind Orchestra of ECOC, László Marosi, conductor, will be held as part of the Wind music Grand Prix of Hungary international wind music contest and festival. The Biennial Coups de Vents International Competition and Festival will be held in France from the 9th to the 14th of July, 2010. The International Wind Music Festival will take place from 10th to 14th July 2010, on the Cote d’Opale (North Coast of France) and the first International Band competition will take place on 9th July 2010 and 10th July 2010 in towns of the Nord and the Pas-de-Calais regions. The Band Competition will use repertoire produced exclusively by the Coups de Vents International Composition Competition. Thanks to a renewed repertoire, Coups de Vents is proposing to bring together concert orchestras of the highest standard coming from all over the world to play these new and contemporary works. The call for submission for the festival and participation for the competition has officially started. The competition is open to all non-professional symphonic bands of the world. The 3rd Annual Singapore International Band Festival will be held at the Republic Cultural Center Theater and Esplanade Concert Hall in Singapore from the 21st to the 26th of July, 2010. WBASingapore (formerly WASBE Singapore) sponsors this event which includes Competition, International Band Exchange, workshops, and Outreach Programme. The Open Division 1st Prize is S$19,000. The 29th Biennial International Society for Music Education (ISME) World Conference will be held in Beijing, China from the 1st to the 6th of August, 2010 at the China National Convention Centre and China Conservatory of Music. The conference theme is “Harmony and the World Future.” Based on the conference theme, music educators will discuss how to enhance communication and understanding between different nations, cultures, genders and different groups at this conference. The 13th Annual International Youth Band Festival will be held from the 25th to the 29th of August, 2010 in Echedoros, Greece. The festival is open to youth concert bands, marching bands, big bands, and percussion ensembles with a minimum of fifteen players and a maximum of forty-five. However, the organizer is looking for an outstanding march band of larger size and would provide more accommodations. All groups play daily concerts and participate in a parade on the final day. The 4th Annual International Competition for Wind Orchestras will be held at the Concert Hall in Velenje, Slovenia from the 7th to the 10th of October, 2010. Every third year, Slovenian Fund for Cultural Activities and Slovenian Wind Orchestras Society organize an international competition for wind orchestras in concert performances and until now the competitions have been in Koper, Velenje, and Novo mesto, with participation of 41 Wind Orchestras from 9 different countries. The 4th Annual Lago di Garda Music Festival will be held at the Lake Garda in Riva del Garda, Italy from the 14th to the 18th of October, 2010. 4th International Festival of Choirs and Symphony and Wind Orchestras on Lake Garda, Italy- the most Mediterranean lake of all Italian Alpine lakes - offers a spectacle of natural brightness and colours which makes it a unique holiday destination for all seasons. Visitors are impressed by villages with historic buildings that create a fascinating area for the Music Festival.
